Shin Megami Tensei-like iOS RPG Demon Tribe will be available in English this winter When Atlus went up for sale this summer, many fans feared that the acquiring company would churn out watered-down mobile versions of its hardcore Shin Megami Tensei RPGs. The good news here is that Sega - the company that bought up Atlus - already had a Shin Megami Tensei-esque RPG in the works for iOS called Demon Tribe, and it's set to receive an English localisation this winter. So, take ...

Persona 5: My Hopes and Dreams

Added: 21.10.2013 19:23 | 14 views | 0 comments

A couple weeks back, Atlus launched a curious little website that definitely suggests some reveal or announcement will be made on November 24th. The most curious part about this site is that, alongside the Atlus logo, there is also the logo used by the Persona team. In light of building anticipation and a recent domain registration, I feel its a pretty decent bet to believe that this will be the long-awaited Persona 5 announcement. As a pretty fervent fan of this Shin Megami Tensei spin-off series, Im stupidly excited about the game and have way too many ideas about what Id like to see. Today, Ive decided to share some of these ideas with you all, and Im really hoping you will indulge me in my fanaticism.

Review: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (DarkZero)

Added: 02.10.2013 2:18 | 39 views | 0 comments

"If there is one thing I have no shame in supporting its the idea of old Japanese games getting remade for current systems, especially ones that offer the chance to bring exclusive Japanese titles to the West. The idea that I am missing an entry in a series that I adore is a painful thing to think about. Just ask any Suikoden fan and youll hear them grumble about titles that never made it out of the Land of the Rising Sun. Having jumped into the Shin Megami Tensei games during the PS2 era, I had missed a lot of the history behind the series, so it was great to hear that Atlus were revisiting their catalogue and bringing fans the opportunity to play Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (Im just going to call it Soul Hackers from now on, because thats one long title), a Sega Saturn and PlayStation title that has never seen the light of day outside of Japan until its arrival on the 3DS."

Hardcore Gamer: Shin Megami Tensei IV has gotten rave reviews, but at $50, some may be tentative about buying it -- especially if they haven't played a prior entry in the series. Atlus announced today that both the eShop and retail versions will be discounted $10 through October 14.

Etrian Odyssey Untold: Millennium Girl Out Now, $10 Off Shin Megami Tensei IV

Added: 02.10.2013 0:30 | 17 views | 0 comments

Atlus sent word today that Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is out now both at retail (with a fancy CD and art book) and digitally via Nintendo eShop. Untold gives Etrian fans a story mode for the first time, so if you've been curious now's a good time to jump in. I'm not very well-versed in EO, but I can say it's weirdly fun to draw dungeon maps while you're exploring. My 3DS XL is completely overflowing with Atlus games, but why isn't yours? I've been using the eShop quite a bit but Atlus's second bit of news still applies to both retail and download. You can get Shin Megami Tensei IV for $10 less at October 14th. I'd say it's scary how good this deal is, but I'm afraid Atlus isn't cooperating with that one. Bottom line, if you like the RPG genre or can get into the narratives you'll see dozens of hours fly by.
